Ragnarok Online

I have a simple excuse for not posting.

Ragnarok Online.

I know there are some new and international games that have more quests, and rich story lines. But Ragnarok is a game I remember from late grade school and throughout high school.

Its classic.

and if you play on Valkyrie or Valhalla, its free.

(well.. that depend on how much premium you buy but you get my point)

I have several easter eggs from talking to NPCs, and have compiled lists for the trades skills. I have been intending to put those things up but never found the time. And I want to see which would be better to put up.

K dramas and Dramione

I haven't posted in a while, and i figure i ought to have at least some form of regularity in posting. I got a break off of school (about two weeks).

So since then i have been bumming around to:

"IRIS"

Torrents: http://www.d-addicts.com/forum/torrents.php?search=iris&type=⊂=View+all&sort=

(download the ones that have "KOR" in the title there are more seeds for it as of Jan'2010)

Fan subbed at : http://withs2.com/view/iris

(they do real good soft subs at withs2 so if you want to keep em coming visit their sponsors or donate)

with a side of "Princess Hours"

I got a Tagalog dubbed DVD. Its kinda bootleg so the quality was very low, but i could keep it running while playing FB games so the poor video quality and excessive (dubbed) breathing didn't bother me too much. I stopped in the middle though. I guess i could only take so much. I'm trying to get a download of Goong (the original Korean name of the series) but i haven met any luck finding any that are decently seeded.

-o-

and reading Dramione (Draco/Hermione) fan fic.

I just finished a particularly well written "Hermione is a pure blood betrothed to Draco" fic.

"My Brother Blaise by Charolette Black"

you can read it here

http://grangerenchanted.com/enchant/viewstory.php?sid=763

You have to make an account with Granger enchanted to view it but its free (you only need a valid email add and two min to pick a name and password.) There are alot of Hermione/other character pairings and stories there that range from G-NC17. So until Contra Veritas and Coloured Grey come up again i think il be hanging around there for a while.

For other Dramione

there is also

"Fanfiction.net" - of course, is a large database that has much of whatever you want. G-R

Fanfiction.net

"Accio D/hr" - a dramione fan fic and fan art indexing site

http://dhr.accio.nu/

"its always the quiet ones" - a fan fic story base centered on Blaise Hermione and Draco and the (relation)ships between them (last i recall its R-NC17).

http://quietones.org/

"The Restricted Section" - has some romance and NC17 stuff too.

http://www.restrictedsection.org/

There are others Of course but in my recent search for some good 'ol draco-love thats what i have run into. I can wait for CG and CV to come back up though. But for now others will do.

*i put the URLs up so you can cut paste them, i sometimes have trouble with hyper links so just in case.

Enjoy,

Hallyu

I started this blog wanting to observe different cultures, or share my musings. One of the recent things i find interesting is the Korean wave. It probably could have been any culture, but at that moment and at that time i took a step to look into another world. Dont we all have those moments though? Escape artist tendencies and a desire to live life outside of a mundane reality. A desire for getting outside yourself, your own four walls and yet in the end we are still seeing ourselves reflected in the universal humanity that is cognized.

I know it might be masa (a derogatory Tagalog term referring tomedia appealing to the masses - it can be used in other ways mind you so don't cite me on that one) to quite a few. And by quite i mean alot of people. And i get it...

In fandom there is a tendency to want to be the idol, or someone who you aren't -and that path can be very unhealthy. It must be said though that enjoying a culture and admiring beauty is a different story from fixated obsessive fanaticism. There is a myriad of "crazy"fan types, but one extreme has put much criticism on those who are in other parts of the spectrum. Not that there is anything wrong with being a highly organized fan base (re: DBSK, Shinhwa concerts) but there are other levels of being a fan.

I dont take it THAT seriously, but i can get obsessive about having a favorite. Not all fans are on the extreme side of the line. Despite whatever judgments or hecklers may say it doesnt change that fact that for me its fun, i enjoy it. It cheers me up, makes me happy, and it adds a little special to my day. Life can be drab so its not so bad to add some of that brightly colored Asian fashion to it.

post script: though i added a bit to it the original of this is here: http://thecultureobserver.blogspot.com/2009/12/hallyu.html and I wrote it. So I cant really plagiarize myself.

I know no one really reads these yet but just in case it ever comes up..

first entry.

mé⋅lange

  [mey-lahnzh, -lahnj] Show IPA

–noun, plural -langes  [-lahnzh, -lahn-jiz] Show IPA .

a mixture; medley. [French, from Old French meslance, from mesler, to mix; seemeddle.] pas⋅tic⋅cio (pā-stē'chō, -chē-ō, pä-) n. pl. pas·tic·ci (-chē) A work or style produced by borrowing fragments, ingredients, or motifs from various sources; a potpourri. [Italian, from Vulgar Latin *pastīcium, pasty; see patisserie.] Thats basically what i am, and in a way we all sort of are. I made a blog before (http://thecultureobserver.blogspot.com/2009/12/hallyu.html) but i had email synchronization issues with that due to Google accounts slowly becoming universal and a google account cant be associated with another google account. Which i dont mind its just the adjusting phase thats the rub. So to clear up mission/vission issues from the start here im going to have different tidbits of my interests and maybe even my life (but i have a strong feeling its mostly going to be interests.) i have different interests, different hobbies, and am a very mixed media type so thats mostly what will be here. No promises, but for now thats what i foresee. And its general enough to stick so theres there for the first entry. Amen. Coming next: i will post about my netventure as i try to sign up and use different Asian drama forums and torrent sites.
